Sagashi-Daiichi ichi-ju-ichi
The first seaweed to appear at Numata Nori is from Sagashi-Daiichi Fishing Ground, located along the Rokkaku River. This fishing ground is popular in Saga for its well-balanced seaweed. The “ju (=thick)” grade has a crispy, chewy thickness that makes it ideal for use in rice rolls. Each bite brings out the distinctive sweetness of the sea.
[Recommended ways to eat]
*With mozzarella cheese: Add rock salt and olive oil to the mozzarella cheese and roll it up with nori to make an Italian-style Isobe roll.
Roll it up just before eating to keep it crispy, or roll it up a little earlier to enjoy its moistness and aroma.
*Ramen: The sweet umami flavor enhances the taste of the soup without interfering with it.
